For many of us (myself included), pets really are like family. Moving to a new home and a new community is a big adjustment for anyone. It may be a surprise and a relief to know that many senior communities welcome resident’s pets. In many cases they can move with you!
On SearchSeniorLiving.com you can easily find retirement communities which allow pets in 2 different ways:
1. Go to our home page to search for a retirement community
When you search, just check “pet policy” under “select your preferences”
2. Visit our retirement communities page to browse by city.
On any given city where we list individual communities, just scroll down and you can see the pet policy for each community.
Pet Policies May Vary by Community:
Requirements vary with each community, however the most common include a deposit with the first month’s rent to cover any cleaning or damage, there are often size restrictions for dogs and if you are unable to care for your pet without assistance, you or your family might need to make special arrangements. You’ll see on our site that many communities have really nice walking paths and open areas you and your pet can enjoy together.
